Rustic Stoneware Wine Jugs – French, Early 20th Century
Add a touch of rustic elegance to your home with these early 20th-century French stoneware wine jugs. Crafted in classic farmhouse style, these wine jugs or pitchers were traditionally used for dispensing wine or cider and feature a charming beaded design that adds subtle texture and authenticity. Their earthy tones and sturdy stoneware construction make them both decorative and practical, ideal for adding a warm, vintage touch to your kitchen or dining area. This pair of rustic jugs are perfect for farmhouse decor enthusiasts or anyone who appreciates timeless, functional pottery with a hint of European charm. Although unmarked apart from numbers, it is most likely they are of French origin from the Late 19thc/Early 20thc
Condition of Stoneware Wine Jugs
In very good overall condition no chips or cracks, however to be totally accurate their is a slight roughness to one of the inside lips as can be clearly seen in images, unsure as to whether this was how they were manufactured? or occured at a later date. Either way doesn’t detract from their rustic charm.
*As with all Antique and vintage items including vintage pottery, some signs of wear and tear may be visible such as small scratches, stains, blemishes, small dings, and other marks commensurate with age. This is not considered damage, but an enhancement of character and authenticity.
