Mid-Century British Art Pottery
This Trentham Art Pottery Bull is an iconic mid-century design by Colin Melbourne, produced in England during the early 1950s. Made by Trentham Art Ware, it remains one of the most recognisable examples of Melbourne’s sculptural work. The bull also doubles as a money bank, blending mid-century decorative form with practical use.
Distinctive Green Glaze
Finished in a deep green glaze with turquoise highlights flowing across the body, the Trentham Art Pottery Bull is striking from every angle. Measuring 16cm in height and 30cm in length, it reflects the bold, modernist aesthetic that defined post-war British pottery. Complete with its original Trentham Art Pottery label and impressed “Made in England” mark, it is an authentic and highly collectible piece.
Condition and Authenticity
The bull is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. As with all genuine vintage pottery, minor signs of age such as light wear, glaze crazing, or base scuffs may be present. These are considered part of the natural patina and add to its vintage appeal.
The money bank comes complete with its original plastic stopper. A rare find, this design classic Bull is perfect for collectors of Colin Melbourne designs and enthusiasts of mid-century & Vintage ceramics.
